Poor Kathryn Faughey made the news today in a way that no one wants. The 56 year old New York City psychologist was hacked to death with a meat cleaver. The murder happened in her office during normally scheduled hours.

Kathryn Faughey lived across the street from her practice on East 79th. Street.

During the attack on Kathryn Faughey, a male psychologist attempted to intervene, but was himself badly slashed by the attacker. He is in New York-Presbyterian Hospital Weill/Corne, and is currently unidentified.

The police are looking for a man in regards to the attack but haven't released any details. There is no word whether the man is a patient, but the possibility certainly exists. What a grisly end for a hardworking woman.
