NASA sets Calif. landing for Endeavour
EDWARDS AIR FORCE BASE, Calif., Nov. 30 (UPI) --
NASA officials say they have elected to press ahead with a scheduled landing Sunday for the Space Shuttle Endeavour at Edwards Air Force Base in California.
The landing was scheduled for 4:25 p.m. Eastern standard time with a de-orbit burn set for 3:19, officials said. They said the landing had been moved to Edwards because weather conditions at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida were unfavorable Sunday and were predicted to be poor again Monday.
Endeavour and its crew arrived at the International Space Station Nov. 16, delivering equipment that will help the station expand its capacity to hold six crew members rather than three.
The Shuttle astronauts also delivered flight engineer Sandra Magnus to the station, replacing Greg Chamitoff. The current Space Shuttle mission the program's 124th, and the 27th flight to visit the space station, NASA said.
