Penn Badgley Discusses Gossip Girl Character

NEW YORK CITY NY Dec.1 (TOTI) -- Penn Badgley, who plays the role of Dan Humphrey on the CW series Gossip Girl, recently discussed his thoughts on his character.

Badgley, who celebrated his 22nd birthday on November 1, told Teen magazine, "I'd love for Dan (Humphrey) to become kinda crazy or something, as opposed to being the straight, nice guy."

Perhaps he's thinking of that old saying "Nice guys finish last."

On the success of the show, Badgley said, "With teen shows you get a lot of the same kind of stuff, but I like to think there is a unique quality to ours. They found something: If it's the clothes, the lines Chace Crawford's bangs..it's something!"

Badgley is currently dating Blake Lively, 21, his co-star that plays his on-screen love interest Serena van der Woodsen. Badgley and Lively have known each other since they were being home schooled. They've been dating since late 2007.

Gossip Girl is currently in its' second season and also stars Chace Crawford, Leighton Meester, Taylor Momsen, Ed Westwick and Kelly Rutherford.
