Man gets 45 years in neck bomb death
ERIE, Pa., Dec. 3 (UPI) --
A Pennsylvania man has been sentenced to 45 years in prison for his role in the death of a man who robbed a bank with a bomb strapped to his neck.
Kenneth Barnes, 55, of Erie was charged with conspiring to strap a collar bomb to Brian Wells before Wells robbed a PNC Bank Aug. 28, 2003, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reported Wednesday.
Wells was killed when the bomb detonated. Prosecutors said they determined during the investigation that Wells had helped plan the robbery.
