Blake Fielder-Civil Blames Himself For Amy Winehouse's Problem With Drugs
Amy Winehouse's husband, Blake Fielder-Civil, has blamed himself for Winehouse's addiction to drugs.
In a recent interview with Britain's News of the World he said, "I introduced her to heroin, crack cocaine and self-harming."
Winehouse and Fielder-Civil were married in May 2007 in Miami, Florida. The couple was known for being involved in violent behavior when they went out drinking.
Fielder-Civil has been re-incarcerated after failing a drug test after being released early for "perverting justice."
The original charge against Fielder-Civil stemmed from offering a barkeeper money to take the stand in a court of law and lie about a fight that Fielder-Civil was involved in. He's now expected to be released from jail in early 2010.
Amy Winehouse has had numerous health issues and hospitalizations over the past year stemming from chest infections to bad reactions to medications. She was diagnosed with early stage emphysema in June of 2008.
Despite dire warnings from her doctors and family, the singer continues to smoke - the one thing that won't help heal her lungs, save her powerful singing voice and even her life.
Blake Fielder-Civil even suggested that it might be better if they were divorced. He told the magazine "I am not abandoning her. I am doing this out of love. I have to let her go to save her life."
Winehouse representatives haven't confirmed the couples' split.
