Girl Shot Over Potato Chips

It has been a bad day for domestic violence. In Dillon County, South Carolina, a 10 year old boy shot his 9 year old sister in the face during a dispute over potato chips.
The girl is recovering in a Charleston hospital.
The children were at home while their mother was at work. They argued over potato chips and then the fighting took an unexpected turn. The girl wouldn't give up the potato chips so her brother went and got their father's gun, a 410 bore shotgun. Then he loaded it, pointed it at her, and fired.
After the shooting, the two ran to their nearby grandparent's house for help. The girl has had reconstructive surgery since the shooting.
“I feel like it’s an accident,” said Freddie Haselden, who is a relative of the children. “I know him real good and I spend a lot of time with him and I don’t see him doing that intentionally.”
