Rudolph Giuliani Faces An Uphill Climb In His Presidential Bid
by Richard Henson in politics

Let me say that I'm a fan of many things about Rudolph Giuliani. Yes, I consider him to be a great mayor and a genuinely concerned person on many issues. But, man, it's tough to ignore the red flags and baggage concerning him as a Presidential candidate.
Giuliani is far left of the other Republican Presidential candidates
When you run for the office of President, personality flaws become noticeable, and Rudy has quite a few of them. Consider these items:
- Family value issues - there's never been a President who is thrice-divorced
- He's a Pro-Choice Republican, which could prove to be a liability, or a step into the future for the party.
- He's for gun control. He just lost NRA support
- He also supports Gay Rights. What will the Christian Right do if Guliani gets the nod?
Right off the bat, we can see that Giuliani is not your typical Republic candidate at all. If elected, he would be much more liberal than any other GOP President. This erodes his support from the traditional wings of the party.
Here's a typical reaction to his candidacy from that quadrant of the population.
Tony Perkins, president of the Family Research Council, a group of conservative Christians, dismissed Mr. Giuliani’s speech in an e-mail message he sent to supporters Friday afternoon.
“When people hear Rudy Giuliani speak about taxpayer-funded abortions, gay ‘rights’ and gun control, they don’t hear a choice, they hear an echo of Hillary Clinton,” Mr. Perkins wrote.
Now this wouldn't be the first time that a candidate was off-center in relation to the views of their party, but it would be dramatic in the case of Giuliani. Plus, you need to understand that Giuliani has personal liabilities in the form of ex-wife Donna Hanover and scandal-ridden former NYC Police Commissioner Bernard Kerik.
Plus, Rudolph Giuliani is a life long New York Yankees fan. That's a liability everywhere in the US except New York City.
These are the reasons I think Rudy won't have a chance in this election. What are your thoughts on his candidacy?
