Adam Walsh Murder Case To Be Closed
HOLLYWOOD, Fl., Dec.16 (TOTI) --
Twenty seven years have passed since Adam Walsh, age 6, went missing from a Hollywood, Florida mall and now police and investigators are formally closing the file on the case.

Adam's body was never never found, but his head was discovered two weeks after he was reported missing.

A source said that Florida officials are expected to name Ottis Toole, a drifter that died in prison in 1996, as Adam's suspected killer based on circumstantial evidence.

Adam's disappearance all those years ago inspired his father, John Walsh, to launch America's Most Wanted, a TV program that airs on Fox. The show features fugitives suspected in violent crimes, including murder, molestation, armed robberies and other violent crimes.

As of May 2008, the show was credited with 1,000 arrests because of criminal profiling that lead to the capture of suspects.

America's Most Wanted or AMW, has been on the air since February 7, 1988 and is the longest running series on Fox network.
