Internet Explorer Patch Issued After Security Flaw Exploited
REDMOND, Wa., Dec.17 (TOTI) --
Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT) has issued an emergency patch after a serious security flaw left users of Internet Explorer 7 susceptible to hacking.

The security hole allows hackers to "hi-jack" users computers and steal login information after visiting infected websites. Since the code doesn't require a download, this hack attack is considered a very serious threat to people that use Internet Explorer 7 as their web browser.

Microsoft said that previous versions of IE could also be at risk, but Internet Explorer 7 has been the primary target of the attack. The company even advised users to switch to an alternative web browser while they fixed the bug.

A "critical" security update is expected to be released on Wednesday. People that have activated the Windows Update feature on their machines will have the patch downloaded automatically.
