Doobie Brothers To Play At The 2009 North American International Auto Show
The iconic 70's band, the
being held at the Cobo Arena in Detroit, Michigan on January 16, 2009. Their performance is for Charity Preview attendees. Doors open at
8:30 PM and the concert begins at 9:00.
Funds raised by the event at the 21st Annual NAIAS will help benefit Charity Preview, a local organization that provides clothing, medical treatment and other support services for children in the Detroit area. Benefactors include Barat Child and Family Services; Boys & Girls Club of Southeastern Michigan; Boys Hope Girls Hope of Detroit; The Children's Center; Judson Center; Children's Services
of Northeastern Guidance Center Assistance League; The Detroit Institute for Children; Think Detroit PAL; Easter Seals - Michigan;
March of Dimes; Children's Hospital of Michigan; and the DADA Charitable Foundation Fund, a fund of the Community Foundation for Southeast Michigan.
Joe Serra, senior co-chair of the 2009 NAIAS said, "The Doobie Brothers performing at Charity Preview will make this truly a night to remember for our guests. Adding a band like this with their history and caliber to the evening's festivities is a perfect fit for a fun night for Detroiters while supporting 12 local children's charities."
Tickets for the black-tie Doobie Brothers concert are $400.00 each and is required for admission.
The North American International Auto Show is open to the public from January 17, 2009 till January 25, 2009. Industry Preview days are January 14 and 15, 2008.
The auto show draws visitors from around the globe and features prototype vehicles as well as new models from a number of automakers. Exhibitors at the NAIAS include Acura, Aston Marton, Cadillac, Ford, General Motors,
Lexus, Mazeratti, Mercedes-Benz, Tesla and Subaru, just a to name a few.
