Selena Gomez Works On New Album - Wants To Tour With Demi Lovato
Wizards of Waverly Place star Selena Gomez is looking to do the reverse cross-over of her pals the Jonas Brothers.
While Kevin, Nick and Joe Jonas are just starting their acting careers after becoming a famous band, Selena Gomez wants to take her successful acting career and try her hand in the music world.
Sixteen year old Selena is working on her first studio album and hopes to parlay her music success into a concert tour with her best friend, Demi Lovato. She told Bop magazine, "I want to do music that's fun. I don't want to do anything where people are like, 'Oh wow, she's trying to get too deep and serious. I want something that everyone will jam out to."
The actress admits that singing is nothing like acting, something that the Jonas Brothers recently talked about. Gomez continued, "Singing is a completely different experience from acting. You can be more of yourself when you're singing. You can have a little more control over it. It's a different process, going into a studio and not worrying what you look like on camera."
Selena's idea of the perfect band? "I would like all boys in the band." Ultimately, she's just looking for boys that are passionate about music and want to "rock out" with her. "The Jonas Brothers offered to help me with my album, which is really nice of them. I would love to do a song with them."
Selena dished that she'd "love to go on tour with Demi Lovato." Demi Lovato, 16, released her first album Don't Forget in September, 2008. The album, distributed through Hollywood Records, debuted at number 2 on the Billboard 200 chart.
Despite her ambition to sing, fans of Waverly Place don't have to worry about her career shifting directions. She told Bop,
"I started acting when I was 6. I will always love it!"
