Ashley Parra hit by truck

Ashley Parra was killed by a truck on her way to work at Hooter's. In a most unfortunate accident, Parra's was killed when a truck fell14 feet from the Woodall Rodgers Freeway ramp to Interstate 35E and onto Continental Avenue in Dallas, Texas.

Cindy Skufca, of Hooter's said: “You become friends with the people that you work with. People are just walking around numb because they really can’t believe it happened."

The driver of the truck, 38 year old David Simonelli was also killed as a result of the accident.

A former teacher, Dave Lewis, recollects the type of person that 20 year old Ashley Parra was.

"She had a dream for her life and she was very good about make sure she met the goals that were going to help her reach that dream,” Mr. Lewis said. “She had two education goals – one was to go to Law magnet high school and one was to attend SMU, and she pulled both of those off.”
