Waukegan Explosion

An explosion rocks Waukegan, Illinois

A large explosion blew the top of a shopping mall in Waukegan, Illinois, injuring six people.

Pictures of the mall show massive damage

The explosion occurred around noon today. Windows were blown out of buildings and a huge noise was heard.

Waukegan's Mayor, Richard Hyde, told MSNBC that there were "a multitude of injuries."

Authorities are currently at the scene, investigating the cause of the explosion. A large amount of damage has been sustained by the building, and several businesses appear destroyed.
