If you've been wanting to get away to a beautiful place filled with colorful flowers set on oceanview hillsides, you don't want to miss the Flower Fields which opens in Carlsbad, California on March 1, 2008.

The ten week extravaganza features over 50 acres of Giant Tecolote Ranunculus, making a Rainbow out of the earth. It's great fun for the entire family - this year they've added Santa's Play Area which has whimsical play houses and gigantic mushrooms that were once part of Santa's Village in Lake Arrowhead, California.

"We have the 'Guard Shack,' 'Doll House,' 'mushrooms' and 'Crooked Treehouse.'" says Fred Clarke, general manager of The Flower Fields at Carlsbad Ranch.

Visitors can enjoy the All-American Rose Selection Garden and Walk of Fame which features 150 different rose varieties and 80 award winning varieties of mini-roses.
