Twilight Remains Top Seller
Respect the Vampire! That seems to be the message that the movie Twilight is sending to Hollywood. When you take a book series that has tons of rabid (no pun intended) fans and you make it into a blockbuster production with Hollywood's hottest young celebrities, you're bound to have huge success.
Catherine Hardwicke, the director of Twilight, has already received the distinction of being Hollywood's all-time sales leader for female directors. Not only has the movie helped the career of Hardwicke, but it's done wonders for young stars such as Robert Pattinson, Tyler Lautner, and Kristen Stewart.
Worldwide box office sales for Twilight have reached $281,938,820. Not bad considering the current market for entertainment.
Since the movie has done so well, it's not surprising how many top actors are lining up to be considered for roles in New Moon, the planned sequel.
Even High School Musical start Vanessa Hudgens is being considered for a part in New Moon. How a star of Disney fare such as High School Musical will be greeted by Twi-hards is anybody's guess.
