The Florida sheriff's deputy criticized for his response to a tip in the search for Caylee Anthony was accused of failing to follow up in another case.

A meter reader reported a suspicious bag in August in the woods near the house where two-year-old Caylee had lived with her mother and grandparents. In December, bones were found there and identified as the missing girl's remains.

In 2007, an investigation into Orange County Deputy Sheriff Richard Cain's response to a report of a threatening phone call was determined to be unfounded, the Orlando Sentinel reported. The newspaper said that a similar complaint was made about Cain in 2006 with an unknown outcome.

Roy Kronk, the meter reader, appeared on ABC's "Good Morning America" Tuesday. He said he made calls to the sheriff;s office on three consecutive days in August and a fourth in December.

Kronk said that a deputy, identified by the sheriff's department as Cain, used a metal stick to probe the area and "swept his head back and forth and said, 'I don't see anything,' and pretty much, that was it," Kronk said.

Officials have said that the summer was a difficult time to search because the area was under water.
