Taylor Swift Beats Nickelback
Taylor Swift is currently whipping the competition, including Nickelback, when it comes to record sales. The former girlfriend of Joe Jonas has used her heartbreak to attrack a huge audience. This girl writes songs from her heart about her heart and it pays off when the soundtrack numbers come in. Of course January sales numbers tend to suck, but Swift still beat Nickelback by selling a total of 72,000 copies of Fearless.
Nickelback came in second with 53,000 copies of Dark Horse sold to the faithful.
Taylor Swift's country style and upbeat lyrics have caught on with fans.
"Taylor Swift is one talented teen! She had a hand again in every song on her highly anticipated sophomore CD - this time she wrote 7, and co-wrote 6. The first single, "Love Story" is a good example of how she can combine great lyrics with a catchy beat - and then produce a smash crossover hit," wrote one enthused reviewer.
January is a traditionally slow time for music sales, and this year is proving no different. "Dark Horse" has been out since November 18th. yet continues to sell relatively well.
Expect some new releases to hit the charts in coming weeks. Right now, though, Taylor Swift and Nickelback continue to hold their own.
