The Florida meter reader whose tip led police to the remains of Caylee Anthony has received a $5,000 reward from a lawyer who represented her grandparents.

Mark NeJame said he had been paid $5,000 for his part in the case and decided to pass the money on, the Orlando Sentinel reported. He gave a $5,000 check to Roy Kronk Thursday.

"He had done something good," NeJame said. "It was only appropriate to do something good back."

Kronk called police three times in August to report a suspicious bag he saw in a wooded area near Caylee's grandparents' home in Orlando. After he called again in December, a search of the area turned up bones that have been positively identified as those of the missing 3-year-old girl.

Casey Anthony, Caylee's mother, has been charged with murder. On Thursday, the sheriff's department released a video of a jailhouse conversation she had with her parents in August.

"My entire life has been taken from me," she told George and Cindy Anthony.
