Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter
by Lupe Lasano in this-and-that

The Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter photographs avalanches on Mars
The first ever pictures of avalanches on the planet Mars have been recorded by the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter.

The orbiter uses The High Resolution Imaging Experiment (HiRISE)to record the incredible images from remote planets.
Avalanches on Mars surprised some researchers, like Ingrid Daubar Spitale of the University of Arizona, Tucson.
"It really surprised me," she said. "It's great to see something so dynamic on Mars. A lot of what we see there hasn't changed for millions of years."
