Will Smith Ready To Play The Part Of Barack Obama
Now that Barack Obama has officially taken Presidential office, it comes as no surprise that there's talk of a Barack Obama movie. Leading man, William Smith, is ready to step up and play the part of the first bi-racial President of the United States.
At the London premiere of his latest film, Seven Pounds, Smith said, "If I am ordered by my commander in chief to star in a film about him, I will do my duty as an American."
Despite his willingness to play the part of Obama, Smith said he had no intentions of pursuing politics. "It's a whole lot more fun to be a movie star" said Smith.
His latest film Seven Pounds was released in American theaters on December 19, 2008 and has grossed $111,187,106.00 worldwide as of January 21, 2009. His 2008 summer film, Hancock made $624,386,746.00 worldwide, so it isn't hard to understand why Will Smith would be excited to play the part of Barack Obama - he'd have the chance to play one of the most influential men in today's modern era, not to mention the box office receipts he would stand to gain.
A Barack Obama movie hasn't been confirmed.
