Sony President Stan Glasgow says cheap Blu-ray players on horizon

The war of HD standards has been won by Sony, so make way for cheaper Blu-ray players as Sony prepares to ship the units to the masses.

"Next year $200 could happen. We�ll be at a $300 rate this year; $299 will happen this year," he said.

All of this clearly says "Wait" to the average consumer. For those who have been putting off purchases, it's likely they will continue to do so until price points hit $200.

Currently, Sony Blu-Ray players sell for around $400.
