ORLANDO, Fla., Jan. 28 (UPI) --
The attorney for the grandparents of slain Florida toddler Caylee Anthony is crediting media and the public with derailing a plan to profit from Caylee's death.
Lawyer Brad Conway expressed relief that Showbiz Promotions changed its mind about selling a doll inspired by the slain 2-year-old, the Orlando Sentinel reported Wednesday.
A wave of protest followed a marketing effort by Jaime Salcedo of Showbiz Promotions to sell an "Inspirational Sunshine Caylee Doll," named after the Orlando, Fla., child whose body was found five weeks ago after a long search.
"I think that it's another perfect example of individuals out there with no level of decency that prevents them from trying to profit from this little girl's death," Conway said.
On the same day that Showbiz promotions halted its plan, three voodoo dolls of Caylee's mother, Casey, went on sale on eBay.
Casey Anthony faces first-degree murder charges in her daughter's death.
