ORLANDO, Fla., Jan. 30 (UPI) --
Casey Anthony, the Florida woman charged with killing her 3-year-old daughter Caylee Marie, appeared at a brief court hearing Friday in Orlando.
Prosecutors told a judge that they will not be ready to go to trial for months, the Orlando Sentinel reported. Defense lawyers said that they may try to get the trial moved away from Orange County.
Anthony's lawyers asked Orange Circuit Court Judge Stan Strickland to remove the state's attorney's office from the case, a motion that he denied.
Caylee disappeared in June but was only reported missing a month later. Casey Anthony claimed that her daughter had been kidnapped by a babysitter.
Anthony was charged with murder before her daughter's remains were discovered in a wooded swamp close to the house where they lived with Anthony's parents.
Defense lawyers had also asked for information from the state's attorneys on a complaint they filed with the Florida Bar Association against Jose Baez, the leader of the defense team. Baez was cleared of any wrongdoing, and the judge said the matter was up to the bar association.
