Miley Cyrus Enrages Asians With Slanty-Eyed Slapstick
Miley Cyrus, better known as Hannah Montana to her millions of teenage fans, has walked into a hornet's nest due to some "goofing around" she and her posse did before cameras.
Miley is pictured along with her boyfriend and several friends in a photo where they pull their eyes back into "slantey-eyes", an offensive stereotypical image that was thought to have been eradicated in the 21st Century.
For some Asians, like the ones in OCA, this type of clowning brings back painful memories.
"The photograph of Miley Cyrus and other individuals slanting their eyes currently circulating the Internet is offensive to the Asian Pacific American community and sets a terrible example for her many young fans. This image falls within a long and unfortunate history of people mocking and denigrating individuals of Asian descent," said the statement.
I have no idea where Miley or the other vicious white folks in this picture got the idea that it would be okay to make such a gesture. The poor Asian guy looks embarassed by what he's witnessing.
Apparently Billy Ray Cyrus never taught his precocious offspring that racial stereotyping just ain't cool!
It will be interesting to see how Miley tries to spin this newest scandal!
