Kindle 2.0 Launches Today
Amazon has just released Kindle 2.0 - an updated version of their wireless book reader, Kindle.
This electronic device makes bookshelves obsolete, as users have access to over 230,000 book titles and access to a number of popular newspapers - with no internet connection or a hard copy required.
No longer do readers have to worry about the latest book being out of stock since all Kindle material is delivered electronically in less than
one minute. Kindle 2.0 can store up to 200 books at a time, so you never again have to carry a bookbag if you feel like reading more than one book at a time.
If you like to read international news, Kindle 2.0 delivers. Readers can subscribe to weekly news from France, Germany, and Ireland via Le Monde, Frankfurter Allgemeine, and The Irish Times. Over 1,100 blogs are also available through Kindle 2.0 and are updated on a daily basis. Blogs available for download include Huffington Post, Boing Boing and Slashdot, among others.
The newest version of Kindle is very light - weighing in at only 10.3 ounces. Along with the light weight, Kindle 2.0 takes about 2 hours to
fully charge and can be used to read for about a week with 'wireless' in the off position. If 'wireless' is left on, Kindle needs to be charged
roughly every other day. There are no additional fees for the wireless access that Kindle uses.
