The Pittsburg Steelers recently announced that they've released Cedric Wilson from the team. The announcement was made a day after Mr. Wilson was arrested for assaulting his girlfriend at a restaurant.

The team offered no other comment on his dismissal. He played wide receiver for 3 seasons with 81 passes for 1,162 yards and two touchdowns as a free agent. He was signed in 2005.

This isn't the first time officials have been called to sort out personal affairs with Cedric Wilson. In January, Lindset Paulat was involved in a lengthy armed stand-off at Wilson's home. Perhaps the drama was too much for his managers, coaches and teammates to bear.
