Obama Typical White Person

Obama clarifies his position on the "typical white person"

As the Presidential races steams toward a showdown, Barack Obama has found himself increasingly entangled in the issue of race. His recent speech about race in America is already drawing flack from critics. Obama made comments about his "typical white" grandmother, when he defended controversial preacher Jeremiah Wright.

"I can no more disown him than I can disown the black community. I can no more disown him than I can my white grandmother – a woman who helped raise me, a woman who sacrificed again and again for me, a woman who loves me as much as she loves anything in this world, but a woman who once confessed her fear of black men who passed by her on the street, and who on more than one occasion has uttered racial or ethnic stereotypes that made me cringe," said Obama at the time.

Barack Obama visited 610 WIP radio host Angelo Cataldi, who asked him about his speech on race.

"The point I was making was not that my grandmother harbors any racial animosity, but that she is a typical white person. If she sees somebody on the street that she doesn't know there's a reaction in her that doesn't go away and it comes out in the wrong way."

I have to admit, the clarification hardly helps his cause. Maybe typical White pussies run the other way when confronted with people of different races, but certainly not all white people do. In fact, I think people might be hard-pressed to describe a "typical" person of any race in today's modern America.

It is starting to become increasingly clear that Obama is losing his edge with the association with Wright and his recent comments.

Has Obama got your vote or do comments like this turn you off to his campaign message?
