Michael Phelps Bong Taken Into Custody
The bong Michael Phelps used to smoke marijuana has been taken by police and 8 people who were there the day he smoked the weed have been arrested.
The Sheriff of Richland County, Leon Lett, has been focusing on the Phelps incident ever since pictures of him inhaling were first published in British tabloid The Daily Mail.
The incident happened last November at a house on Blossom Street near Five Points. Phelps casually hit the bong as a party goer casually snapped his pic.
As soon as the picture came out, Lett jumped on his high horse and said the picture was photographic evidence that a crime had been committed in his jurisdiction.
Lett has now captured the bong used by Phelps. Someone was planning on selling the thing on EBay for $100,000, but unfortunately it's been taken by police.
8 people are currently under arrest now during the investigation, including the owner of the house, who wasn't even at home during the party.
It's moments like this that have to make citizens of Columbia, South Carolina feel great about their police. With a dangerous bong in custody, and Michael Phelps on the run, the town is a much safer place than usual.
