Salma Hayek Lends A Breast To Feed A Hungry Newborn
SIERRA LEONE, Africa Feb.11 (TOTI) --

Salma Hayek, 40, recently lent a breast to help fight one African babies hunger.

The actress was visiting a hospital in Sierra Leone when she found a baby in need.

The child mother was unable to feed her baby because she didn't have enough breast milk, so Salma stepped in and breast fed the week old boy.

The newborn shares the same birthday as her one year old daughter, Valentina. Salma is in the process of weaning Valentina, so she still has enough breast milk to share with the children of the world. She also stated that her decision to feed another child with her
own milk is something that runs in her family, since her grandmother did the same thing for a baby in Mexico when the child's mother was unable to breast feed.

Salma Hayek is a UNICEF spokesperson and has traveled to a number of under developed countries to raise awareness about the of the Pampers Tetanus program. Tetanus is responsible for 21% of infant and child deaths in the country, it has the highest infant mortality rate in the world - 1 in 5 babies make it to their fifth birthday.

Salma doesn't feel her decision to breast feed another child betrayed Valentina. She said, 'I actually think my baby would be very proud to be
able to share her milk and when she grows up I will make sure she continues to share and be generous caring person.'
