Brad Pitt feels that whoever wants to get married in the United States should be able to do legally. He is donating $100,000 to fight against Proposition 8, a new proposal on the ballot in California that would limit some same-sex couples from getting married in that state.
"Because no one has the right to deny another their life, even though they disagree with it, because everyone has the right to live the life they so desire if it doesn't harm another and because discrimination has no place in America, my vote will be for equality and against Proposition 8," said Pitt in a statement.
Pitt has made the largest donation to a campaign fighting Proposition 8 so far. It's an issue he's spoken about in the past. When asked why he and Angelina Jolie weren't married yet, Pitt once famously responded that the couple would wed when it was legally allowable for everyone in the U.S. to do so.
"Angie and I will consider tying the knot when everyone else in the country who wants to be married is legally able," Pitt told Esquire at the time.
