Rihanna Picks Up The Pieces After Chris Brown Woes
Rihanna is doing her best to pick up the pieces after her recent troubles with Chris Brown. Rihanna fled to her native Barbados after the ugly incident, in order to be closer to her family and friends. A new report in In Touch says the singer is getting stronger as she struggles to cope with the incident.
"She knows she will survive this," a friend said. "This is just something awful she has to go through, but she also knows that she will never accept less than she deserves again."
Fortunately for Rihanna, she's been able to find comfort in the beautiful Caribbean country. Her family has pulled together to show her support.
She's spent time recently with her father, Ronald Fenty, who said she's hanging out with her girlfriends as she heals from the incident.
Her grandmother, Clara Brathwaite, gave a positive statement about the singer.
"Rihanna is fine and is doing well," she said.
Chris Brown is currently doing much worse since the incident. The singer, 19, is out on $50,000 bail. Right now he's seeking treatment for anger management.
"Words cannot begin to express how sorry and saddened I am over what transpired,” Brown recently said in a statement. "I am committed, with God's help, to emerging a better person."
Brown has received a bit of public support, but it pales in comparison to the outpouring of vitriol he's received from Internet users. With newly released photos of what appear to be a badly beaten Rihanna surfacing, the anger towards Brown is palpable. A man who once was a role model is now serving as a cautionary tale about the dangers of domestic violence.
Rihanna, real name Robin Fenty, despite the incredible success she's had in the past few years, has also experienced plenty of turbulence in her young life. Her father was addicted to crack cocaine and her family life suffered because of it.
"I just knew that my mom and dad would always argue when there was foil paper with an ashtray," she once said.
Her father cleaned up his act and made his amends. He says his daughter won't have the same problems in life he did.
"She's too smart," he stated.
Two promising careers are currently on hold and the future appears murky for both performers. With a trial and negative publicity surrounding Brown and Rihanna, what should have been an outstanding 2009 for both of them is now fraught with peril.
