Robert Pattinson Clears Up Edward Cullen Character Flaw
Although Robert Pattinson's Twilight character, Edward Cullen, seems perfect in almost every way, RPattz had to clear a few
things up about his character.
Robert Pattinson was concerned about some of Edward's character quirks, "One of them is why he treats Carlisle as a father when he's an 108 year old guy and knows he's not his father."
Since it's Robert Pattinson's job to know everything about Edward's character, he turned to Stephenie Mayer, author of the Twilight book series the film is based on.
Robert said, "She said that he treats him as a father because he deserves to be treated as a father because he wanted Edward to be his son and Edward believes that Carlisle is such a good person who will ignore his age and treat him as a father, which initially I thought was absolutely ridiculous... and then I thought that's actually a really bizarre character trait so I kind of started to agree with that by the end."
Robert Pattinson reprises his role as Edward Cullen in The Twilight Saga:New Moon which begins production in March. Also returning
to the set are Kristen Stewart as Bella Swan and Taylor Lautner as Jacob Black. The film is set for a November 20, 2009 US theatrical release date. Twilight is still playing in theaters and has grossed $366,979,919.00 in worldwide box office receipts.
