Krabbe Disease hits two families from same family

It's been a strange case of good fortune and bad fortune for a Minnesota couple who won the Minnesota PowerBall Lottery prize of $180 million. The couple found out May 4th 2003 that unfortunately, their granddaughter had perished from Krabbe Disease. 5 years later on the same date, they found out about their big win.

"It’s fairly overwhelming because you have family and friends kind of coming out of the woodwork,” the couple's daughter, Stacy, said. “We feel blessed that we have been given this and we hope that people see that we are going to use it for a greater good."

Shockingly enough, the couple recently learned that Stacy's second daughter has also been diagnosed with Krabbe Disease. It has been a whirlwind week for the family, right down to seeing the highest highs and lowest lows.
