Jennifer Aniston Speaks Out On Angelina Jolie Brad Pitt Oscars Showdown
Sure, people were excited to see Slumdog Millionaire win some awards, but nearly everyone who peaked into the Oscars were watching the show to see if a catfight between Angelina Jolie and Jennifer Aniston would erupt. People longed to see Brad Pitt forced to pull one woman off the other, proving once and for all where his devotion lies.
Unfortunately for us, the catfight never properly materialized. Four years after the marriage between Brad Pitt and Aniston dissolved (Jolie snatched Pitt from Aniston while the two were filming Mr and Mrs Smith in case you've been living in Bin Laden's cave in the Middle East), the three Hollywood uber-celebs were in the same room at the same time for the first time.
The tension was so thick you could slice it with a butter knife.
Aniston appeared the most nervous. Pitt and Jolie were so cool you could lower the temperature on your mixed drink by placing it near their heads. Aniston even flashed a smile at Pitt in order to quell everyone's anxiety.
When asked if she was nervous, Jen said merely "Yes!"
Over the years, Jennifer Aniston has done her best to avoid public events where she'd be forced to run into Pitt and Jolie. Finally she seems to have conquered the issue once and for all. But it still seemed like an 800 pound gorilla was in the room when outsiders analyzed the interaction between the trio.
A friend of Aniston told Life and Style that Aniston is in such a good place in her life right now, that it was a perfect time to encounter Pitt and Jolie.
"She's in the best time and place in her life right now," said the friend. "She knew this day would come, but it shows how confident she is that she chose to go to the Oscars when Brad and Angelina were nominated."
