Amazon To Begin Selling Used Games
Just one day after Toys'R'Us made a similar announcement, word comes that Amazon will now be selling used games also. The company that looks to be really hurt by all of this is game retailer GameStop, who used to be the only done doing this.
The Amazon system follows this format:
• Games must be undamaged with manual and original case and be postmarked no later than 7 days after submission.
• Print a shipping label and packing slip, package your games, and ship them to Amazon
• An Amazon.com Gift Card will be deposited into your account upon receipt of games
For frugal shoppers, this could be a successful system. Amazon also recently announced fairly aggressive pricing on new game downloads, with hefty discounting.
Amazon is shaping up to be a force that has to be reckoned with in the video game industry. They have a recognizable destination website and generally outstanding customer service.
Gamestop certainly looks like they were targeted just because their business model has proven successful during these harsh economic times.
