Lawyer: Rihanna will testify if required

LOS ANGELES, March 6 (UPI) --

Rihanna's lawyer Donald Etra says the recording artist is cooperating with authorities in Los Angeles in the assault case against her beau Chris Brown.

Brown, 19, was charged Thursday with felony assault and making criminal threats for allegedly beating Rihanna, 21, last month. The couple were estranged for several weeks after the alleged incident, but reportedly have since reconciled.

"She is planning to do everything that the law requires her to do," Etra told Usmagazine.com. "If she is required to testify, she will do so."

The attorney also said Rihanna is doing fine and doesn't want an order of protection against Brown. He also said the recording artist has made no comments about how she wants the case resolved.

"The fact is, Rihanna desires that it be quick and expeditious," Etra told Usmagazine.com. "She wants to get back to her life and her career."

Brown is scheduled to be arraigned April 6.
