Brad Pitt And Angelina Jolie Are New Washington Power Players
Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie visited Washington for professional reasons and it won't be the last time. Jolie is in the nation's capital to film her new spy thriller, Salt. While she was working on the movie, Pitt had meetings with both Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi and new Department of Energy Secretary Dr. Steven Chu.
Not bad meetings for a day's work. Not only that, but Pitt met with President Barack Obama concerning Hurricane Katrina and New Orleans.
Brad Pitt is getting political about the reconstruction of New Orleans and he has was greeted last week in Washington with high level access to the type of high level lawmakers who can effect change.
Pitt is partnered with real estate millionaire and Democratic fundraiser Steve Bing in a project in New Orleans that focuses on reconstruction in the battered ninth ward of New Orleans.
Details of the meetings have been scarce, but it does seem clear that Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are looking to use their celebrity access to mold political opinion.
It isn't that difficult to imagine a political career for either of them.
