Chris Brown Won't Be At Kid's Choice Awards
Award shows are the last thing on Chris Brown's mind these days.
Chris Brown, 19, assaulted his girlfriend, Rihanna, 21, before the 51st Annual Grammy Award Show on February 8, 2009. Both Rihanna and Chris Brown canceled their scheduled appearance at the ceremony in wake of the evenings events.
After the news broke, Brown was rebuked for his behavior by his peers and a number of radio stations announced they would no longer broadcast his music. On March 5, 2009 Brown was charged with two felonies for assault and making criminal threats, so it's no wonder
he's in no mood to party.
Brown is nominated for favorite male singer and favorite song for his single "Kiss Kiss" at upcoming Nickelodeon Kid's Choice Award Show. Nickelodeon stated that they won't remove his name from the ballot, even though concerned parties have started an online petition calling for his removal.
A Nick spokesperson said, "Like all our KCA nominees Chris Brown was nominated by kids several months ago based on his body of work as a performer, and the kids who vote will ultimately decide who wins in the category."
Chris Brown and Rihanna have since been working on a reconciliation. A source told People, "Chris has been hanging out with Rihanna, working on his music and spending time with and speaking with his mother and pastor."
Nickelodeon confirmed that Brown isn't scheduled to attend the Kid's Choice Awards airing on March 28, 2009.
