Roswell Beacon

The Roswell Beacon comes under fire for a picture of Barack Obama

A controversial picture of Barack Obama has been used for the cover of the "Roswell Beacon."

The magazine basically states that there are a lot of racists out there, and Barack Obama is undoubtedly the target of racist groups. They are being criticized for putting Obama in the crosshairs, indicating he's a potential candidate for assassination.

The controversy has stirred quite a debate so far. The company had this to say.

As responsible journalists we take the job of reporting the truth seriously. Our mission is to provide our readers with relevant news and information. We do not take a political stand nor offer opinions in our publication. Although the topic is uncomfortable, these hate groups do exist; they must be exposed and law enforcement should be encouraged to monitor their activities.

The cover image was designed to bring attention to the seriousness of this situation. We understand that there are some people who believe the image was disrespectful. That was not the intent.
