Felicia Melton-Smyth

Felicia Melton-Smyth killed while on vacation

Felicia Melton-Smyth was a well-liked Gay community activist from Madison, Wisconsin. She was vacationing in the Mexican city of Puerto Vallarta when she is said to have been stabbed by a man who says she refused to pay him for sex.

"Her unofficial title here was cruise director. She took care of fundraising, parties, decorations. She kept the place in line," said her co-worker Cheryl Bigdal. "The smiles, the jokes she put out, that was priceless around here."

Friends say she had vacationed in Puerto Vallarta many times before.
