Police in Edmonton, Alberta, say an intersection traffic camera caught a fatal gang shooting for live Internet broadcast, but the view isn't recorded anywhere.

The shooting happened about 2:20 a.m. Sunday, when a 30-year-old man driving a silver Infiniti was sprayed with at least nine bullets, Sun Media reported.

Police spokeswoman Karen Carlson said a small white car was reported speeding away after the shooting, but police had little else to go on.

The city's cameras offer live Internet viewing but the feeds aren't recorded, so Carlson was appealing to anyone who might have watched the shooting unfold.

"Maybe there are some night owls that were watching these live feeds and might have seen something that will help the investigation," she said.

It wasn't immediately known how many viewers might have been watching that particular camera at that early hour, city staff said.

Carlson said the man killed was 30, and well known to the anti-gang unit, the report said.
