Rihanna Asks For Chris Brown Apology On Oprah
Love is never having to say you're sorry in front of millions of Oprah Winfrey fans. Rihanna and Oprah Winfrey want the troubled singer Chris Brown to do just that. They're hoping that Brown will appear on Oprah's show and say he's sorry for allegedly smacking up Rihanna.
"Oprah suggested that Rihanna tell Chris that despite their recent commitment ceremony, she's been having second thoughts about them being back together. And agreeing to go on Oprah's show and tell the world how sorry he is will help make up her mind," a source told Look.
For Brown the move might look good for his damaged reputation and might also be cathartic. But it might also lead to an even further degradation of his damaged public persona.
"He said no at first, but bought himself some time by saying he needed to think about it with his mother Joyce. But he's desperate to win over the American public and he's realized this could be the perfect way."
It's possible that the move will happen, considering that Brown is in real trouble when it comes to his career. Domestic violence is a serious issue and Brown has now become the poster boy for such abuse. Absolving himself on "Oprah" might just be the remedy his career needs.
"Rihanna's trump card may be that Chris is desperate to avoid jail and thinks prosecutors will go easier on him if he expresses public contrition," the insider said.
