Miley Cyrus Is Not A Snob
Miley Cyrus has been the victim of a lot of rumors in her short life, but she's learned to deal with it. Before she landed the role of Hannah Montana, Miley was a typical Tennessee school girl, with the normal set of problems that entails.
One such problem was gossip about her that fellow classmates seemed to revel in. The rumors related to her being a snob. Once the kids heard that, they were out to get her.
"They would say, 'Oh, she thinks she's better than us.'" she told BOP. "But I didn't! I just wanted to fit in."
For Miley, the mean behavior of the kids was a surprise.
"I've never understood why people want to hurt other people!"
Now Miley has learned to deal with criticism. Due to her growing self-confidence she doesn't let gossip bring her down.
"There will always be people that we call haters. It's all just insecurity," she says. "It's just them having a hard time with themselves. Now I have confidence to be like, 'Hey I don't believe in that, and I think it's not cool.'"
