How do all these rumors get started? Well, if Bobby Brown is to be believed, they get started by all the jealous people. One thing's certain, if you're a young Hollywood heavyweight, you had better develop thick skin because rumors about you are bound to fly.

BOP asked several of today's hottest stars about rumors.

Robert Pattinson is no stranger to rumors. As the main vampire Edward Cullen in Twilight, he's been thrust into the international spotlight. Rob Pattinson knows how to deal with gossip.

"I read stories in magazines that I'm dating so and so," he said. "But it's not true! But they are very good guesses because I always fancy the girl they pair me up with. I'm hoping it's the girl herself who has made it up -- then I'm in with a real chance!"

Zac Efron, who is dating his perennial co-star Vanessa Hudgens has learned what it's like to be gossiped about.

"I heard a rumor that I was dead," he said. "I'm serious. Someone called me up and they were like 'Oh, dude - you're alive!' Apparently it got out online."

Ashley Tisdale, who is most famous for her role in High School Musical, has also dealt with the dark side of fame.

"I heard this completely fake gossip that someone accidentally bumped into me and I was supermean to them about it," she said. "I was like, 'That is so not true!'"

Shia LaBeouf has been acting in movies since he was knee-high to a sprite, so he knows just how widespread gossip really is.

"There was a rumor I dated Rihanna," he said. "My friends were like 'Are you serious? Why didn't you tell me about that?' I was like, 'I really don't know her like that.' For weeks, they were singing that 'Umbrella' song everywhere I went."
