Taylor Lautner Stays True To New Moon Book
After playing second fiddle to Robert Pattinson in his role as Edward Cullen in the vampire series Twilight, Taylor Lautner is getting ready to step up as a leading man in the upcoming sequel, New Moon, now being filmed in Vancouver, BC.
The 16 year old actor has gone the distance to make sure he can fill the shoes of Jacob Black, a werewolf that is vying for the love of Bella Swan, played by Kristen Stewart.
In addition to adding over 20 pounds of solid muscle to his frame, Taylor Lautner learned how to ride a dirt bike in order to play the role.
Lautner told Bop magazine, "I want to stay true to the book because that's what fans love."
The Twilight saga is based on novels of the same titles written by author Stephenie Meyer.
New Moon is being directed by Chris Weitz and has a tentative American theatrical release date of November 20, 2009.
