New Moon To Continue Despite Twilight Lawsuit
VANCOUVER, British Columbia, Apr. 21 (TOTI) --

The show must go on, and in the case of New Moon, it will.

Heidi Stanton, who attended Brigham Young University with Stephenie Meyer, the author of Twilight, says that Meyer stole her idea for a short story and turned into the blockbuster book series.

A representative for Summit Entertainment denied the suit would cause a disruption in the filming of New Moon, which is currently being filmed on location in Vancouver, British Columbia.

"Production is underway, in Vancouver, totally as planned. There is no delay. Whatever you’re hearing about a lawsuit interfering with the film (and) its release, all I can say is it’s totally false," the rep said.

Staunton filed suit against her old friend, saying it was her idea all along.

"Quite frankly, I was shocked when I began watching the movie with my husband last week. I immediately told him that she got that idea from me!," she said in papers. "I wrote a fictional short story with the same ideas when we were in college together."

In related news, it's now being stated that Breaking Dawn has been given the green light. It will be the fourth movie in the installment.

In another sign of the gold rush grab that is Twilight, the first ever TwiCon for TwiHards has been announced. The first annual TwiCon will be held July 30-August 2, 2009 at the Sheraton Dallas Hotel in Dallas, Texas.
