Madonna is used to getting the things that she wants - even if the thing that she wants is another child.
The 50 year old entertainer, who has three children, daughter Lourdes, and sons Rocco and David Banda, is embroiled in a battle to adopt Mercy, a 4 year old Malawian child, but the reemergence of the girl's biological father could throw a clink in Madonna's bid to adopt.
James Kambewa, who is believed to be Mercy's dad, offered an olive branch to her family in hopes of keeping the adoption from going through. He told the Early Show that he was "capable of taking care of my baby" and that he felt it was important that she grow up in Malawi.
Kambewa has had no relationship with his daughter until this point.
Mercy's mother died after giving birth to her and she's been living at the Kondanani Children's Village in the town of Bvumbwe. Madonna met Mercy when she was in the process of adopting David Banda in 2006.
A judge in the case hasn't cleared the way for Madonna to adopt Mercy and issues with Madonna's residency are complicating the adoption process, as was the case in her adoption of David. Her lawyers are working diligently to secure the adoption.
