NEW YORK CITY, NY, May 8 (TOTI) --

All is not well for Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, according to a new spate of reports. Tensions are running high, and insiders close to the Hollywood super couple say that their relationship might be nearing its end.

"They're just trying to take take each day as it comes," a friend told In Touch. "The tone is cold. They're barely speaking to each other."

In an ironic twist, Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie, and his ex-wife Jennifer Aniston all find themselves in New York City. Pitt has turned to Aniston for support as the troubles with Angie have heightened.

"It's a crazy position for Jen to be in - that of a shoulder to cry on," her friend said. "But she's excellent in a crisis, and she's happy to have Brad back in her life. She's missed him as much as he's missed her."

The report goes on to describe a secret meeting in New York City on April 23 where Pitt and Aniston re-united. After Brad, 46, visited Jolie, 33, on the set of Salt, he high-tailed it over to see Aniston who was filming scenes for The Baster.

"He pulled up in his black SUV," said a mutual friend. "He arrived on the opposite end of the set from where Jen's trailer was, and Jen snuck into his car. The drove around New York City together, talking."

Pitt and Aniston have both denied the meeting. The friend insisted it happened, offering details of the encounter.

"Brad confessed his feelings for Jen," the friend said. "He told her that he is trying to make his relationship with Angelina work, but it is failing."

Brad needed a shoulder to cry on, and found it in his old flame.

"He told her how tough it is with Angelina right now," the pal stated. "He told her he's worried about losing the kids."
