Harry Potter is already one of the literary world's most successful characters, if not the most successful, so we can't be too surprised to learn that the character will serve as inspiration for a new theme park.

"The plans I have seen look incredibly exciting and I don't think fans of the books or films will be disappointed," said Potter's creator, J.K. Rowland.

The park is the brainchild of Warner Bros Entertainment, the distributor of the Potter films which have so far grossed more than $3.5 billion worldwide. They're jointly developing the park with Universal Orlando Resort.

Warner Brothers has extremely high expectations for the project.

"Over the years we've received thousands of letters from fans around the world wishing they could visit Hogwarts (School) and the wonderful locations described in each of J.K. Rowling's beloved stories," said Barry Meyer, chairman and CEO of Warner Bros. Entertainment.

The newest installment of the movies series "Harry Potter and the order of the Phoenix" will open on July 3rd. So far the ending is a complete secret.

"I want the readers who have, in many instances, grown up with Harry, to embark on the last adventure they will share with him without knowing where they are going."
