Madonna lies low and A-Rod gets to party alone

Luckily for Alex Rodquiguez, his mother Lourdes still loves him. She showed up for his party at the 40/40 club, but none of his Yankees teammates did. One insider said the Yanks are tired of their star player's off-field woes and the media distraction it brings to the team.

A-Rod ignored reporters who repeatedly tried to ask him about his personal life. He said "we're not here to talk about that. We're here to actually celebrate a nice week of festivities for Major League Baseball."

Alex hardly seemed perturbed by the events. He said he loved baseball because it allowed him to get paid "insanely well" for "doing what he does best."

Even though Madonna wasn't at the part, Guy Oseary and Ingrid Casares were. Oseary is both A-Rod's and Madonna's agent. Heck, Oseary is even the godfather of Madonna and Guy Ritchie's son, Rocco. Casares is Madonna's BFF. Perhaps they passed a few notes to the Yankees slugger?

Their presence at the party would seem to at least indicate that Madonna and Alex do know each other quite well.
